LucasArts (aka LucasArts Entertainment Company LLC[1]) is an American game development and publishing company founded in 1982 by George Lucas[2]. Their first game was Ballblazer, an action game released in 1984[3].

The company developed many successful adventure games, like Maniac Mansion (1987) and the Monkey Island series, but today mainly produces games based on the Star Wars franchise[4].
