Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is a critically acclaimed 3D action-adventure stealth video game, developed by Ubisoft Montreal and built on the Unreal Engine 2. It is the first Splinter Cell game in the series endorsed (but not created) by author Tom Clancy, and follows the activities of American NSA Black Operation, "Black Ops", agent Sam Fisher. The character of Sam Fisher is voiced by actor Michael Ironside. His boss, Irving Lambert, is voiced by actor Don Jordan.

[edit] Custom resolution

The proposed resolutions in the game's video settings are all 4:3 resolutions. However, it is possible to set the resolution to any other value, by manually editing a game configuration file: go to the game's folder, then open the file system/SplinterCellUser.ini with any text editor. Find the [Engine.EPCGameOptions] section (that should be the last section of the file), and edit the line starting with Resolution= to set it to the value you want, for instance: Resolution=1366x768. Note that using a non-4:3 resolution will distort the menus, but the game itself will scale fine to 16:10 or 16:9.
