Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, abbreviated as Bloodlines or VTMB, is a computer role-playing game for Windows developed by Troika Games in 2004. Like Activision's Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, Bloodlines is set in White Wolf, Inc.'s Vampire: The Masquerade universe also known as the World of Darkness (WoD), but it is not a sequel to the earlier game. The game allows the player to choose one of several different vampire clans and progress through the game according to the different strengths and weaknesses of the player's character, as in its paper and pencil role playing origins.
Although Bloodlines divided critics at the time of release, it retains a popular cult following. It is also notable for being the first game along with Half-Life 2 to use Valve's Source engine, which allows the game to be played from either the first-person or third-person shooter perspective. It is also Troika Games' third title and the last to be made before Troika closed down in February 2005.

[edit] Regain Humanity
At The Asylumin Santa Monica, you can dance with the other vampires and ghouls. After 5 or 10 minutes, your humanity will regenerate a point. This works great if you stole the money at the art gallery.
[edit] Hacking higher levels without losing the extra experience points
Note: This trick works only if you have enough experience points to invest. Save the game before you get ready to start hacking. Then, pour what you can into the skills for your hacking feat. Then, start hacking and get the password and write it down. Then, reload and type the password into the computer.
[edit] The Big Lebowski reference
During game play, most often in the Museum level's Security Office, you will find a book labeled "Security Manual", which you may use to increase your Security Knowledge feat. When you focus on this item in your inventory, a description reads "Sobchak's Guide to Home and Office Security." Walter Sobchak, a main character in the film "The Big Lebowski", ran a home and office security business.
[edit] Easy Armor Upgrade
After receiving the second suit of armor, head to your apartment. Equip the new suit of armor, drop the armor (while equipped) into a box. Close the box, then open it and grab the armor from the box again. If done properly, the statistics attached to the armor will increase. Do this over and over again for extremely powerful armor. Unfortunately, if done, your dexterity will be decreased.
[edit] Infinite Stats
Once you select your vampire type [base] there are set stat points that you can use. Once you distribute them go back to the base selection. Select the same base as before. Make sure that you dont click on another base [it resets the character's stats]. When you go back to the stat distribution page your character has his stats that you've left. On top of that you can add the ones that they give you for picking that base. Make sure that you don't fill all the stats as soon as possible. You won't be able to start the game if you have left over stats.

There is a vendor glitch that allows you to buy multiple versions of a skill book. When you buy the book, it will disappear from their inventory. However, once you use it the book will reappear. Simply sell whatever skill book you wish to duplicate to a vendor. Then, close the dialog and buy the book back. Talk to the vendor again after using the book. They will now have another copy available for sale.

[edit] Extra option
The game was supposed to allow you the option of selecting a history for yourself rather than just setting various attributes by hand, but it was disabled in the final version due to instability issues. However you can re-enable it manually.
First, go into your vampire\cfg folder located in your main Bloodlines folder. (default: C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\vampire\cfg) Now find the "Config.cfg" file, open it with notepad, scroll down to the bottom, and add: vchar_edit_histories "1". Save the file.
Now, when you start a new game, you'll have the opportunity to choose a history. Sometimes the game will crash after selecting a history, this is normal and happens seemingly at random. Simply start the game back up and choose the history again. I don't know if you are required to have the console enabled, but if you are, you can enable it like this: First, right-click on your Bloodlines shortcut and select "Properties". In the target field, add the following (without the quotation marks): " -console" (note the space before the hyphen).
For example: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\Vampire.exe" Change it to this: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines\Vampire.exe" -console.
