[edit] File-edit cheats

You can edit the difficulty files in your Crysis folder (the standard path is C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Config). The four files (corresponding to the 4 difficulty levels) are named diff_easy.cfg, diff_normal.cfg, diff_hard.cfg and diff_bauer.cfg. Open the file (using Notepad or Notepad++) of the difficulty level you want to edit. Add the following lines at the end of the file and save it:

  • g_godMode = 1: enables god mode
  • ai_IgnorePlayer = 1: the enemies behave as if the player wasn't here
  • i_noweaponlimit = 1: no weapon limit (you can carry more than 2 rifles)
  • i_unlimitedammo = 1: unlimited ammo

You can also edit existing parameters, for instance to increase HP regeneration rate, suit energy regeneration rate, or the speed multiplier when using the speed option of your suit. For example:

-- Player Health/Energy/Suit edited
g_suitCloakEnergyDrainAdjuster = 1
g_suitRecoilEnergyCost = 0
g_suitSpeedEnergyConsumption = 0
g_suitSpeedMult = 2.05

g_suitArmorHealthValue = 100.0
g_playerSuitArmorModeHealthRegenTime = 0
g_playerSuitArmorModeHealthRegenTimeMoving = 0
g_playerSuitHealthRegenTime = 0
g_playerSuitHealthRegenTimeMoving = 0
g_playerSuitHealthRegenDelay = 0

g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTimeArmor = 0
g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTimeArmorMoving = 0
g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeTime = 0
g_playerSuitEnergyRechargeDelay = 0

[edit] Tweaks

[edit] Very high details on Windows XP

To unlock the very high details mode (normally reserved to DirectX 10, ie Vista) for Windows XP, use the following DX10 patches (by Alacn):

NB: these are launchers, which means that to enable them, you have to use them to launch Crysis every time you want to activate their features. If you launch Crysis "normally" (eg using the Start menu links), the very high details mode won't be available. Note also that the result is NOT real DirectX 10, but only some of the material used to develop the DX10 content, so it's still not as complete as the very high details for Vista, and will also run slower[2].
