Cheats
Press [~] to open the console, where you can type the cheats. When typing cheats, the keyboard may be considered as a QWERTY keyboard, so you may want to have a look at the QWERTY layout to find the keys.
All cheats affecting the player need to start with "player->". For instance, you can set your strength to 100 by typing "player->setstrength 100". The cheats are case-insensitive. NB: when typing cheats, hitting the key bound to the "menu mode" will most often block you from typing the command. The best way to bypass this is to temporarily bind the menu mode to some unusual key or mouse button.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of commands:
- tgm: toggles god mode, which will also prevent your weapons from breaking (quite useful if you raise your strength to unreasonable levels).
-
set[skill] [level]: set [skill] (remove any space or dash in the skill name) to level [level]. For instance "player->setstrength 100". It works with attributes too. Here is the list of skills and attributes:
- attributes: strength, intelligence, willpower, agility, speed, endurance, personality, luck
- skills: speechcraft, mercantile, marksman, restoration, mediumarmor, illusion, handtohand, shortblade, block, alchemy, armorer, heavyarmor, bluntweapon, longblade, axe, spear, athletics, enchant, destruction, alteration, conjuration, mysticism, unarmored, security, sneak, acrobatics, lightarmor
-
additem [x] [n]: adds [n] number of the item whose ID is [id]. For instance, "player->additem gold_001 500" will give you 500 gold. You can get items ID by loading data files in the TES Construction Set. When an ID has spaces inside, you must enclose it in double quotation marks (eg "player->additem "daedric arrow" 1"). Here is a little list of good items:
- Gold: gold_001
- Daedric armor and weapons (non-exhaustive): daedric_boots, daedric_cuirass, daedric_greaves, daedric_pauldron_left, daedric_pauldron_right, daedric_shield, daedric arrow, daedric longsword, daedric long bow
- Eleidon's Ward (a better shield than daedric): towershield_eleidon_unique
- Eltonbrand (a good sword): katana_bluebrand_unique
- Grandmaster's Probe: probe_grandmaster
- The Skeleton Key (the best lockpick): skeleton_key
- GrandMaster's Armorer's Hammer: repair_grandmaster_01
- setlevel [x]: set your level to x
- addspell [spell id]: add a spell. You can get spells ID by loading data files in the TES Construction Set. When an ID has spaces inside, you must enclose it in double quotation marks (eg "player->addspell "ondusi's open door""). Useful spells: levitate, mark, recall, ondusi's open door.
With the console, you can also modify the environment. The easiest way to do this is to open the console, click on the object or NPC you want to modify, and enter your command. For instance, to unlock a door, open the console, click the door and type unlock. To lock any door, do the same but type lock [the lock lvl you want], eg "lock 50".
