Tropico 2: Pirate Cove is a construction and management simulation game developed by Frog City Software and published by Gathering of Developers in 2003. Although it belongs to the Tropico series and shares a lot common points with the previous game in the series (Tropico), its story and setting are completely unrelated: the game is set during the Age of Discovery (but still in the Caribbean), and the player controls a pirate island.

System requirements

According to the game manual, in order to run Tropico 2: Pirate Cove, your system must meet the following requirements:

Minimal system requirements

  • Pentium 3 500 MHz (or AMD Athlon equivalent)
  • 64 MiB of RAM
  • CD/DVD-ROM drive
  • DirectX 8.1 compatible video card with 16 MiB of VRAM
  • 1.8 GiB free hard drive space for install plus and additional 1.0 GiB free hard drive space at run time
  • Windows XP, 2000, 98 or Me (Windows 95 is not supported)
  • Keyboard and mouse

Cheat codes

During the game, hold the CTRL and SHIFT keys while you type one of the following codes[4]:

  • booty: get 2000 gold
  • timber: get 100 lumber
  • goape: the selected pirate becomes enraged
  • goforit: the selected captive tries to escape
  • freebuild: building get built instantly and cost nothing to buil
  • normbuild: disables freebuild
  • britinv, frenchinv or spaininv: triggers an invasion from the British/French/Spanish
  • loseit: lose the scenario
  • winit: win the scenario
