VDMSound is an emulator of legacy sound card devices for Microsoft Windows, designed to allow video games and other applications written for MS-DOS to run on modern operating systems. Its author is Vlad Romascanu.
The project has come to a stall in mid-2002, when additional improvements in emulation were no longer possible due to limitations in the Windows kernel. The sound emulation code from VDMSound has since been integrated into DOSBox.[1] However, a version was released in summer 2007.
